I have the AppleTV 4K 32gig. I am trying to integrate my HDHomerun 4K tuner to my home network and play through my AppleTV. ATSC 3.0 broadcasts transmit HEVC (H.265) video files and AC-4 audio. Is AC-4 a currently supported audio codec On the AppleTV 4K?
Thanks for confirming. I’m currently working with HDHomerun and Channels to try and resolve playback issues. Very new tech, so I’ll need the developers to figure their app(s) out for AC-4 support on the AppleTV4K. Thanks again.
Dolby AC-4 is not natively supported by the default OS media player. But apps can add support for other codecs (within their own app).
I think the recommended app with HDHomeRun is and was the Channels app.
