iPhone XR heating issue

My newly bought iPhone XR gets unreasonably warm after a few minutes of use. (Not necessarily hot, but definitely feels warmer than my previous iPhone 6s)

I updated it to iOS 14.1 a day after I bought it. Using the device in a room temperature environment.

It is an iOS issue or is it something to do with the hardware and should that be viewed as a warranty case?
