PNG image not Displaying

There is a PNG file on my iPad that would not display, the only thing that shows up is “PNG Image” with the number of bytes the file takes up. I have a different PNG file in my iPad files, the image displays. The File icon of the PNG would usually show up, but only the icon that shows for unsupported file types shows up.

Hey tmzk61,

We see from your post that an image file will not display the actual image, only a generic thumbnail.

To clarify, are these files synced from a Mac or PC or iCloud Drive? Additionally, if possible, are you able to remove and resync or re-add the file? If the image will not display it is possible it may have been corrupted on initial transfer.

Take a look here for more information about transferring files to your iPad: Transfer files between iPad and your computer.

If the issue persists, let us know a bit more information about how the file is being stored and we'll be happy to assist further.

Cheers!
