Whenever I watch a film in 4k on my Apple TV the fans kick in and get very loud, the vents are clear and away from any obstruction (I have very good understanding of heat dissipation.) Could someone let me know if it's normal for the tv fans to reach such high rpm under normal load, thank you.

So, official advise is to unplug the device from power, then plug it back in. I would say give it a minute or two before plugging back in.
