MacBook slow startup

Recently my MacBook has been taking as long as 60 seconds to boot up. The Mac is a new one - only purchased in May 2020 - so why is it being so slow? Any ideas? It is running Catalina 10.15.7.

Try to check your log-in items. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups > Log-in items.
