When I compose a new message in messages I do not want to dictate-only use keyboard. Can I disable the voice component or are we forced to use it. I have had some unusual and embarrassing compositions in Messages by the voice feature.

When starting a message m you should see something like this. To use dictation, you would have to overtly press the microphone in the lower right. If you prefer not to use dictation, don’t press the microphone.

Thanks. My “use” of the mic button has been all accidental. I was hoping I could hit the mic, get a line through it indicating it was off-it is an 11 and my worst iPhone yet.
