Does anyone find that Apple always charge the full tax without considering any trade-in value?

It also happened when I applied the account balance. Apple will charge you the full tax no matter if you trade in some device or use coupon.

It does not make sense, like when I bought an Apple gift card, I paid the sales tax, but when I use it in Apple Store, I need to pay sales tax again.

Is any one also confused on this issue?

When you buy a gift card you do not pay sales tax. If you buy a $100 gift card you pay exactly $100 and not $100 + tax. A trade-in device counts as a payment. Therefore, if you buy something for $500 you get charged the full amount of sales tax and then your trade-in is listed as a payment toward the device. Coupons are different and there aren't any coupons that I know of that can be used on the Apple site. However, I've seen some coupons (not from Apple) that specifically state that sales tax may be on the full price prior to the coupon being applied.
