Do the older Apple TV boxes allow you to use Apple TV ?

I have an older Apple TV box and have downloaded all the updates, but still can't see how to access Apple TV+!

It depends on your model. The 3rd Gen is as old as it goes

there is no tv plus app though, it’s a channel found with the Apple TV App,
