Even after doing all these steps my AirPods won’t play music or fully connect

Why won’t my AirPods fully connect they are connected to the phone but when I go to play music they don’t play and it shows they are not connected when you go to the screen where you go to choose which divide you want sound to come from when I click on AirPods it doesn’t connect there
