I have looked at old community responses but found nothing helpful.

Verify you have not hidden mailboxs:

Move your mouse to the right side of the column to reveal the hidden Show/Hide option

I tried so many things and even tried tapping right by that “button” and nothing worked And then an Apple tech spent 30 minutes with me trying all kinds of esoteric things before suggesting we do exactly what you recommended.
