No auto lock/ unlock on iPad Air4 with iPadOS14.1 ?

The magnet on your cover is in the wrong place. I’ll post a picture later showing where it should be. Also orientation matters as far as north and south.

I originally sent an email to the maker of my iPad case saying the auto lock/unlock wasn’t working even though I had it turned on and that I wasn’t sure if it was the iPad or the case causing the problem. I just received an email from the maker and they said there was an error in the information printed on the package and that the case doesn’t support the auto lock/unlock even though it said it did. They said I could return it if I wanted to. Right now I have the auto-lock set to 2 minutes, so it will turn off after 2 minutes when I’m done. When I open the case, I double tap on the screen and swipe up to turn it on. So it’s not as good as the auto lock/unlock, but I don’t feel like driving all the way back to the store and buy another case that might or might not work.

I also posted about this in the other discussion. On my iPad Air 4 (2020), I show the lock/unlock option under Auto-Lock. Even though I have it turned on and the case I’m using says it supports the lock/unlock feature, my iPad doesn’t turn off when I close the case. I’m on ipadOS version 14.1 .

Would you mind posting a photo of where the magnet is suppose to go. Also what type of magnet are you using?

The magnetic is about 5/8” long x 1/32 thick. It’s a rare earth magnet placed 1 1/8 from the edge I cut into the cover to make everything smooth. The polarity of the magnet matters.

I did not understand about the magnetic ? I use the iPad Air 4 also but my case not function with auto lock/unlock

meee too!!! i dont have lock /unlock option on my ipad.. im sooo stresss!!!! so what are the solution this matter??? hurm..

I recently got my new ipad air 4. I was using the air 3 before this. I purchased the same cover from the same brand i was using on the air 3. lock/unlock worked fine with air 3 but not with air4.

I see the option in settings but doesn't work.
