iPad 2020 12.9 with Apple Pen 2, drawing random lines.

When I use good notes, I very often struggle with the Apple Pen or the iPad (I don't know where the problem is). The problem is that my pen randomly starts drawing horizontal or vertical lines that extend over a quarter of my screen, or that it starts creating dotted lines. This has started happening very frequently. I have turned Zoom off (has never been on for me) and the problem is not my palm resting on the device, I have had this happen without my palm even resting on the iPad... and no I'm using the iPad while its charging.

Does anyone know any Fix or the cause of the problem? Is my iPad faulty or is it the Pen? Or could it be a software issue? Because the problem is not constantly there but very frequently. Its not the iPad overheating, since I have had this happen to me while the iPad has been on my table over the night and on first use within the first minute. Here you can see an example of what I mean.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 14

I posted this same issue as have many others. Unfortunately, I have tried just about everything and nothing has worked so far.

What I have tried:

forced restart multiple times

updated iOS 13 to 14 (happened on both)

cleared browser cache

changed palm rejection settings

turned off zoom (wasn’t on)

got a palm rejection glove

screwed the tip on my pencil tightly (wasn’t loose)

re-paired the pencil Bluetooth many times

pencil and iPad are 100% charged

ipad is not plugged in

have issues in multiple apps, not just one.

I have a new iPad 12.9" 2020 version and 2nd gen pencil.

I have tried using Apple support a number of times, but they have nothing worthwhile to suggest. One time they said I should bring it to BestBuy for service! A brand new iPad! No thanks!

This issue is really affecting my workflow when it occurs. Sometimes it will be fine for a while, but then it pops up again. It is very frustrating.

hopefully someone can figure out how to fix this issue and shares a solution with the rest of us!

I may have a suggestion:

If you are using a case and screen protector, try exposing some of the metal on the side of the iPad and keeping a finger on it while you write with the other hand. Perhaps when you are writing you are generating some static electricity that is interfering with the pencil and iPad.

Please post a reply if this works for you. If it does, maybe someone from apple support could chime in on an actual fix?

Hope this helps!
