Issue Setting up iPhone 12. Trying to Restore from Backup

I have beta 14.2 on iPhone 11 and when trying to restore iPhone 12 to icloud backup, the option is greyed out and it says that iPhone 12 needs to be 14.2. I currently have 14.2 beta on iPhone 11. How do I get 14.2 on iPhone and still restore from previous phone?

Hi there,

I had this issue too. First, set up your new iPhone 12 as new, then install the beta profile, and update to the iOS 14.2 beta on the iPhone 12.

once done, erase the iPhone 12 via Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase All Content and Settings. Once erased, set it up again but this time restoring from your backup which it will now recognize since it runs the same iOS version.

hope that helps,
