hpdm.framework will damage your computer

I deleted each folder that popped up having a conflict. I had this problem too. It ask you to select OK, or Finder. Click finder it will open some folders. I deleted the HPdevicemontoring.framework folder, HPDM.framework folder and matterhorn.framework folder. Basically I deleted each folder that flashed up on my screen. This seem to do the job. Was able to print no problem. I have an HP 8600.

So I have a LaserJet M277c multi-function unit and I was unable to scan and got the same error message. I tried removing the HPDM.framework directory. I was then able to print without the error, but still couldn't scan. I found a post with a possible fix on hp.com

What I did was download this file from the hp.com ftp server:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essentials-S-5_14_8_4.pkg

You can see the original post here:

Now I didn't uninstall my HP Easy Scan. I just installed hp-printer-essentials-S-5_14_8_4.pkg. Boom .. fixed.

Hope it works for you.

Seems like it's a known HP bug - hoping HP fixes it soon. I did both the HP easy start to reinstall the driver. Unfortunately, it wasn't accurate, and although my printer showed up, and I could print to it without error messages, the duplex feature was no longer available (my printer is a duplex printer). I did the easy admin, and reinstalled the driver manually, and duplex works, but now the malware error messages are back. Frustrating.

Same here. Printer works now but not the scanner.

  1. Updated my Mac 10.15.7. ( the latest update is specific to HP printers)
  2. I deleted all folders that popped up as error.
  3. Reinstalled the printer.

The error messages are gone now.

But the scanner is not see in the HP Easy Scan.

I think I will live with the scanner not working issue for some time. Really tired working on this for 2 days.

I think HP should rename their software as HP Never Scans.

This actually helped and I can print and scan now. I'd try it first, if not:

Prior to seeing this post, I deleted my printer (System Preferences, Printer/scanners, highlighted my printer and selected [-] to remove it.)

I did follow this person's suggestions below and got through the download but had to try it twice, meanwhile I saw Denrod378's post and may have stopped the download..don't remember but after following denrod's advice, I was able to print and scan. The scan screen options looked differently than my previous scan work around but it works. Good Luck

All of these windows continue to pop up. (Printer HP office jet Pro 8600) WILL NOT WORK.

I cannot delete any of them. It wants me to put in a password (admin I believe) but that does not work either.

Admin password is correct. No help from Apple or HP
