Where does my iPhone/iPad pop on the "Music" app?

This new way is super confusing my phone is connected to my Mac no issue, but where is the connection notifications in the new "Music" app? Or better yet where does it pop up at all on my computer notifications?

I loathe this new design and renaming it was absolutely pointless!

(clearly I am frustrated).
