From sources familiar with the matter, HP Inc asked Apple to revoke its printer driver code-signing certificates. It appears this request backfired as it left users unable to print. An HP Inc spokesperson said:
We unintentionally revoked credentials on some older versions of Mac drivers. This caused a temporary disruption for those customers and we are working with Apple to restore the drivers. In the meantime, we recommend users experiencing this problem to uninstall the HP driver and use the native AirPrint driver to print to their printer.
A fix was provided rather quickly. Do the following:
A. Get the most recent HP drivers, either from:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essentials-S-5_14_8_4.pkg
or
HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X
or
System Preferences > Software Update (if you don't see it, press Command+R)
B. Run the installer.
C. When the installer completes, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, highlight the HP printer and remove it. Then add it back. This is necessary because otherwise it will continue to use the now unsigned drivers and it will appear that the problem has not been fixed. Apparently installing the update does not remove the old drivers.
A note on AirPrint: Your Mac may say it can’t find the AirPrint printer. If that should happen, reboot your router.

I had this today. On the popup, click show in finder or whatever and delete all the HPxxx.framework folders in there by moving them to trash and emptying trash. In finder, go to applications and move all HP applications to the trash (for me it was HP utility and HP easy scan) and empty the trash. Go to HPs website and download and install the divers for your printer again. Fixed the problem for me.
I deleted the printer from my computer like it never existed then I installed the same printer like it was never there, downloaded the software from HP by following the prompts from the computer and voila it worked.
By moving the file to the trash.
I have just been looking at this for my Mac, posted similar question earlier- seems its a signature error, see article https://www.theregister.com/2020/10/23/hp_printer_macos/
now that the printer has been reinstalled, the pop up says "“fax.backend” will damage your computer." and the files in finder are "HPdrivercore.framework" . Hesitant to put them in trash as don't know the consequences. Could be worse than a pop up screen
None of the solutions offered have corrected all the problems. Pop up is still on screen, but it now reads
'“fax.backend” will damage your computer.'
I can print, but cannot scan./
I cannot find and access just the driver for my Officejet 4635.
I have spent 4+ hours trying to remedy this problem.
Shame on HP and Apple for not providing us with a solution promptly.
thank you for this. I had the same problem today as my Mac must have updated Catalina overnight and was virtually unusable this morning with rampant HP messages. your solution worked for me. Shame that Apple and HP couldn't have sorted this out with a fix
how do I get rid of this pop up "HPDeviceMonitoring.framework" will damage your computer
That worked, but the pop up is still on the screen.
How did you remove it?
Please fix this with HP! These constant popups are insane. I have uninstalled and deleted printer files and now are using AirPrint but these popups are not going away. PLEASE FIX!
none of these work. i have tried everything and this is beyond frustrating since I can't use my laptop because of it
No, actually that does not work.
I get this message and
“Amazon Music will damage your computer."
I can air print but can not scan to my computer. I get this error and none of the suggested print fixes work.
