Chrome can't reach site

I know this issue has been posted about many times but none of the suggested solutions work, and Apple support won't help, so I'm hoping somebody has a new idea. I'm running 10.15.7 and get this error when trying to log into my bank account:

This site can’t be reached

The connection was reset.Try:

• Checking the connection
• Checking the proxy and the firewall

ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

Yes I can log in with Safari but I don't want to use Safari because I've grown accustomed to the Chrome interface and I have the odd idea that I should be able to use my computer the way I want to. Thanks.
