Incoming callers can tell when I’m on another call.
A friend advised that when she calls and I’m on another call, she gets a message telling her that I’m on another call. It tells her “call waiting” How do I turn this off?

You contact your carrier, who is providing this feature. You may have to have them disable call waiting as a feature to get rid of it.
It’s actually been around for at least 30 years as a feature of phone networks, since call waiting was deployed on the public switched telephone network. Except in the past it was just a short “beep” at the start of each ring sound.
