I solved the problem.

Recently, I migrated the iOS with all apps from my old iPhone 8 to the new iPhone 12 Pro and was wondering about a lot of bugs in COD mobile. I can‘t use the shoot button and move the optics in the same moment, so multi touch was not working.

the solution was the easiest way: I backed up my COD account online, deleted the app and installed a new fresh COD mobile from the App Store. Problem solved!

I think the reason of the problem was COD itself: On the old iPhone 8, COD was set up on the 3D touch settings. For information: 3D Touch is da hardware feature in the display, that has only the iPhone 8 and NOT the iPhone 12! So 3D touch isn‘t running on iPhone 12, because it has no 3D houch hardware. I think, this creates the bug in the COD installation.

On the iPhone 12, we have to use the manual focus now. A few tries and it‘s easy as well.

Because a lot of user misunderstood the 3D Touch Feature:

Haptic Touch IS NOT like 3D Touch!

Haptic Touch is a long press (captured in time) that activates the Taptic Engine (Vibration) for interactions. This is not for gaming. You have to use the manual shooting mode in COD.

3D Touch is a sensitive sensor in the iPhone 8 (hardware) behind the screen, that scans the intensity of the pressure without time delay. The iPhone 12 has no 3D Touch Hardware!

I just got my iPhone 12 Pro Max today, and started out with the same issues as everyone else here. I deleted the game, and re-downloaded it without any change. However, when you go into the “Controls” setting, it allows you to select “1-tap ADS” under the “Advanced Mode” tile. Select that and the firing cursor should begin to behave like the 3D Touch of old. If you take a closer look at the two different “fire” buttons(left and right of your screen, depending on your preferences), one has a faint reticle behind the bullet image. If that specific fire button is appearing on the side you typically use to fire with, your problem should be solved.

Hey VarunCOD173,

Thanks for being part of Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having issues play COD on your iPhone 12 Pro. We want this to be working for you so we'd like to help.

Does this only happen with this specific game? Are there any App Store updates available? If so, updating them can help. Then, check out these steps to see if you can get this issue resolved:

If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

Hope that helps!

Have the same issue in COD: Mobile on iPhone 11 pro max. While 3D touch being removed was a big big blow to my gaming experience as I couldn't aim and fire at the same time at all. But the problem was that as per my older controls settings, in Battle royale the left fire button was working but in MP the same settings wasn't working at all unless I released my right thumb which I use for moving my aim. So in MP I had to move the right fire button to the left and only then could I use multiple fingers (for firing and aiming at the same time).

Hope they bring back the 3D touch feature to the 11 and above phones as I think the hardware is still there but the software portion has been changed.

I just had a long conversation with Apple. Anything after that X does not support 3D Touch. There’s nothing you can do to fix it. They now use haptics which sucks for gamers or anyone that liked/used 3D Touch. It cannot be updated or fixed. CODM is no fun at all anymore. 3D Touch was a smart function. Haptics is not. I wish I would have seen this thread before purchasing the 12 pro max. I have no idea why they wouldn’t make this feature at least optional...

I just learned this myself after receiving my new iPhone 12 Pro Max today. I went to play COD Mobile and quickly realized when I couldn't fire that something was terribly wrong. After jacking with the settings for half an hour and searching for answers that would reveal which setting was messed up, I learned that the "3D Touch" feature was replaced with "haptic touch" starting with the iPhone 11. Why the "haptic touch" feature will not translate in COD Mobile and operate the same way is a mystery to me. It absolutely ruins the game for me to the point that I will probably stop playing it.

Same here man I don’t understand why this is so slow to get fixed in a update today! This is huge in gaming world! It would be like buying a new car and the dealer decides to remove power windows, power brakes, ac and heat from a car and not tell you that those options won’t be on the car after you drove a block away from financing the car! The worst thing is Apples attitude about it is but we gave you “Haptic Touch” aka a cup holder does that make up for it? Really Apple but they actually expect you to till enjoy your drive just that same! These phones aren’t cheap and most people trade in their old phone to up grade and are now trapped. Apple make it right add 3D Touch back now!
