Back up new phone to icloud taking hours

I just received my new iPhone 12 pro and I am backing up to cloud for the first time. Is it normal fir it to take hours? It’s been stuck all day on 11 hours show progress a little more than 1/3 done.

That's not normal. Is the device connected to WiFi? Stop the backup, restart the device, and try restoring again.
