Has it connected and worked before, or is this a new keyboard?
If new, please don't be insulted by the next question, but it covers the most common cause of non-responsive new wireless keyboards we see here:
Is the keyboard turned on? The switch is quite small and some people fail to notice it:
It has been working for years. Just quit yesterday.
I was trying to avoid buying another keyboard, don't have the money at the moment.
Does it work if you connect it to the Mac with a Lightning to USB cable?
$ You do not have $10?
It doesn't have a Lighting port.
Where can you find a keyboard for $10??? The cheapest one around here is $50.
