Hi all, can you please help m. I would like to share my imovies .mov on gopro plus to stream to my faimily.
gopro will only accept .mp4 files rather than .mov files.
Is there some way i can change the format when saving the movie clip or do i need to convert it?
if i need to convert it, what app would i get.

Gently click the file name and it will turn blue. Delete the .mov
Type in .mp4 and and click outside the file. A window will open asking if you want to change it.
Hold on! Why are you getting .mov files?
Are you exporting from iMovie using the "Best" setting?
Do not use Best for anything you want to watch on a TV, Computer or tablet.
You should be using Low, Medium or High.
Best is not for viewing or delivery purposes . . . it is just for saving a high quality file if you want to re-edit it at a later date.

To save the bother of converting you could do this . . . simply change the suffix ".mov" on the movie files to ".mp4"
Test it on one file. . . . I'm sure it will work. . . . it does for me.
Thanks for that. I’m nee to Mac. How do you change the extension to.mp4, is is through using the finder app on the MacBook Pro?

Low, Medium and High quality settings all produce .mp4
To get the best quality for viewing use "High"
your are a star...... that worked a treat and saves me so much time in not having to convert it.
