Headphone audio levels notification warning

I listen to music/spotify everyday and I just keep getting a notification that my volume is too loud.

Like 30min in on full volume and then I just get a warning about headphone audio levels, that my music/audio is playing too loud. And immediately the volume turns itself down to a half. Also the notification is just up there until I swipe it back up.

Is there any way to disable this? I looked into health app settings, iphone settings, searched for this on the internet but there is no one having this issue as me I guess?

It’s very unpleasant when for example I’m in the gym and I’m listening to music on my airpods. and then my music gets quiet so I need to drop the equipment to turn the volume back up.

Thanks in advance, Thomas

Good morning, xsull,

We understand that you need to stop your device from automatically warning you about the volume and adjusting your audio levels.

To change this setting, go to Settings > Sound & Haptics. Select Reduce Loud Sounds and then turn that feature off. This should prevent both the warning and the automatic adjustment. This article has more info:

Just wanted to chime in with this - i get the feature when actually using headphones - but why does it still reduce my volume when i connect to my car stereo or bluetooth speakers XD; the sound isnt that loud but the phone is like, nah bro, too loud - and just reduces volume. This needs to be fixed to be reduced to actual headphones like Airpods or any other headphones that go directly to your ear

Actually can we confirm this?

I no longer have a problem using my headphones but then again they are third party…. My friend however was having issues when using her Apple AirPods…

so does anyone know can Apple branded now use without the volume restrictions or is it only third parties that can scotch around the dreaded volume reduction and notifications 🤔

Asking for a friend …. No seriously I really am asking for a friend 👍🤣

I am a truck driver and am really annoyed I can't turn the warning off about loud sounds/music. I may actually return my brand new phone and go back to an old apple. I'd rather deal with recharging my old phone Midway through the day than the warning. I have a small speaker that isn't real loud in a truck that is real loud so the volume is up for most of my 12 hour days. If this can't be fixed before my return period than I will be returning it. Very dissapointed in Apple for not fixing this yet. I've owned iPhones for 15 years and never been this ****** about anything they ever did except this.

I listen to Music via Bluetooth speakers in my car and at home. To get the best tone, I turn the volume to Max on my iPhone and then control it to a decent level at the speaker. This is one of Apple's worst ideas ever. There's needs to be an option to say I am using Bluetooth speakers or to turn this off. As a user of Apple products for almost 40 years I am appalled at how much Apple now interferes with our lives.
