Magic keyboard language

I just bought a magic keyboard for my iPad pro, I should have chosen the Italian but inadvertently ordered the US English. Should I try to return it and exchange it or they're actually the same? Is there anything I should do to adapt it to Italian? Thanks

Thank you but no, Magic Keyboard does not do that. I tried what you suggested but unfortunately doesn't work. Apple support just confirmed to me that it is not possible to do that. I have to return the magic keyboard and order the Italian one. Basically I wanted to be able to do as I do on my US English MacBook Air: if I hold the "e" key, there will be a pop up with "e"s with different accents. This is not possible with magic keyboard.

To see the differences between the printing on the Italian and English keyboards, go to

You can make the English keyboard behave like an Italian one by going to settings > general > keyboard > hardware keyboard and tapping over at the right edge and selecting Italian.

The English layout can also type all the letters needed for Italian via option key shortcuts

That is correct, the popup accent menu in macOS is not available in iOS hardware keyboards, no matter what the language.

But the options I gave you earlier are definitely possible, and if someone told you otherwise they are simply wrong. You can make the English keyboard behave as if it were printed like an Italian one, so that for example è and é are made by the key to the right of P. And the English keyboard can make all the different accents on a "e" by using option key shortcuts (option e, then e to get é, option ` the e to get è).

If you often look at the keys when typing, then getting the Italian printed keyboard is certainly the best solution.
