If your mp3 player can play AAC audio files you can copy the existing file. Otherwise see Convert music file formats in iTunes on PC - Apple Support to convert your original to mp3. To locate the file you want to copy right-click on it and use Show in Windows Explorer. Refer to the instructions for your device for details, but usually you can connect non-Apple devices to USB where they will appear as a drive and you can simply copy and paste files to add them.

True enough, but once I have purchased an album the "product" is mine. I would think even Apple would want me to receive maximum value from the sale.
The cynic in me tells me that once they've got your money their interest is minimal. But I'm sure they'd love you to make an Apple hardware purchase too.
