Setting up new 12 Pro. Visual voicemail from my X is gone....voicemail tab on Phone app does not have a setup tab to establish new VVM. Only thing on screen is a box to “Call Voicemail”. Spent an hour researching. Then multiple calls to Apple who said its an ATT problem. Multiple calls to ATT and they are no help.
Anyone else lose their VVM. Any help to get it set up?

I had this happen and spent time at the At&t store. They were not able to solve it. However from other people's suggestions I chatted with them on At&t and asked them to " reactivate my visual voicemail." It took about 5 mins, restarted my phone and it worked. The service agent said that when you get a new phone it automatically gets turned off.
I have found from a different iphone 12 that if you already have the "unlimited plan" it does not automatically turn this off.

The thing is that visual voicemail is a feature controlled and activated by your carrier (AT&T). You must have just changed iPhones. I would recommend that you call AT&T and have them reset your account and see if that helps.

AT&T was worthless and clueless. Resetting/provisioning VVM didn't work. While on hold for their "tier 3 support", I used the method we used back when this was common... reset network settings. Bingo, VVM is back and everything is there. Very simple, only lost my wifi setup and had to rejoin my wifi network at home. HTH someone.
Had same issue. I called 611. Spoke to a rep and they added visual VM back onto my account. Had to turn the phone off for 30 seconds. Then when I turned it back on, the visual VM was working again. You’re welcome.
Check to make sure your Settings>Siri and Search language settings are set to English (American). Mine were set to English (UK) and that prevented visual voicemail from working.
After multiple calls to ATT the VVM is finally working. First they had to activate the VM on their network. It did not fix the vvm in the phone. I had to call again and someone correctly activated vvm on the att system and then my messages finally appeared on the phone.
you have to keep calling att and hope you finally find someone who can correctly activate vvm on your account.

The carrier controls VisualVoicemail through the “provisioning” of your account. It is a switch they need to turn on, and you need to set up your voicemail by calling into it (once). After the carrier fixes it on their end you need to restart your phone—>Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

That’s highly unlikely, as I haven’t see 100,000,000 iPhone 12 users posting about it. Voicemail is 100% under the control of your carrier, so you need to press AT&T to fix it. Note that:

Tried one of the tips left here and this time it worked!
Turned WiFi off, rebooted phone and voila! It appeared this time. Magic...🤩
This happened to me as well. It was discovered that my ATT plan was no longer offered. I had to UPGRADE to a 5G unlimited data plan for an additional $5 per month to get my visual voicemail back... not thrilled.

Ask your carrier to toggle their visual voicemail feature. On and off. Reset network. On user end.
I had this same issue. It seems that my account was no longer set up for voicemail. I went to the At & t store. They were able to add it back to my account. Hope this helps
First. Simply shut down the phone using the slide to power off. Then turn it back on. It worked for me. (I have Verizon)
I went into my voicemail, reset my password, turned my phone off and back on and the voicemails are now there.
