While I'm typing I get this annoying pop up where my mac asks me if I want to insert a special character. It happens whenever I go to type something, regardless of the application.
How do I turn this annoying pop up off?

That command worked! For me, it was happening even while I was typing regularly, so It wasn't long before I couldn't take it anymore.

FWIW, the time before it pops up is determined by the "Delay Until Repeat" setting in System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab.
