apply pay question

Hi there, so my friend just sent me $50 and it's the first time I'm using apple pay. It shows that she payed me...but it's showing a zero balance in my apple cash. Is that how it's supposed to be? It seemed like when the money came in, I hit something without realizing it and then that balance became zero but I can't seem to figure out what I did.
