new phone cannot find my playlist

Let’s see if we can help out with Apple Music so you can enjoy your new iPhone 12. How did you transfer your data? Did you use Quick Start, download from a previous backup on either iCloud, iTunes, or Finder? Was there any interruptions during the transfer?

If you signed out of your Apple ID before transferring the data, it may be your playlists were deleted. See Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music for more information on syncing your Apple Music.

Reach back out and let us know what you see in Apple Music. Do you see any of your songs?

I'm having a similar issue. I transferred from iphone 6 to 12 pro directly using wifi; not backup or iCloud; I'm not using Family Sharing; don't subscribe to Apple Music. My apps transferred to new phone, but all playlists were gone and only some of my music transferred (no interruption when transferring). When I connected my 12 pro to iTunes (v 12.10.0), it looked like back-up and sync worked, but when I clicked on music under my device, nothing appeared (even though I could play the music I could access on phone).

Then I thought (since I had the storage space on phone) I would sync my entire library from PC to phone. To avoid any duplication, I manually deleted the music that had transferred to phone. I followed the instruction for "Sync or remove content using iTunes," but itunes doesn't give me the option to sync my entire library. When I click on Music under On my Device, I see "Music (no items)" and options to "Autofill from; Settings; Autofill". Itunes won't let me create a new playlist manually (by clicking music under iphone), almost like it's not recognizing my phone(?). And now that I've deleted all music from the phone, the option to create playlists no longer appears on phone (says "looking for your music? Music you purchased from the itunes store will appear here".)
