I would like to connect a new HP 21kd monitor to my i mac. What cable/adapter to use and how to set up. I am using bootcamp, so I would like to use it when using Autodesk Autocad and Revit design software.

Well that display has VGA and DVI inputs. So you need a USB C to either VGA or DVI adapter to make the connections. Then you would use the instructions in https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202351.
