If you are referring to a missing home screen, then the TV input may not be set to the correct HDMI port. That would be a setting on the TV.

We don't know what you have and have not tried unless you tell us. Check the TV's input as Urquhart1244 suggested.

Then you may have poor network reception where the Apple TV is located. Please try the following first:

1.     Restart Modem.

2.     Restart Router

3.     Unplug Apple TV from Power for 2-3 minutes – re-plug in and retest.
