PC HDMI to 2015 Thunderbolt Monitor . Cannot find an adaptor that will work.

I have an older Thunderbolt monitor that I use with my MacBook Air. I just started a new job and I have to use a new ThinkPad Lenovo PC. Help! I want to use my Thunderbolt monitor. Can't find one that works online.

Per the spec page for X1 Carbon Gen 7 on Lenovo’s site, the X1 Carbon Gen 7 has two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

You would need a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter - Apple makes one: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MMEL2AM/A/thunderbolt-3-usb-c-to-thunderbolt-2-adapter?fnode=596e1b7facb7d9dffae2af58c1ae3201c63501ae01affe268a64c07800ce5b14295ca7866ad29e6422b2a3f65632fa71a2536498617cf195608be89f46ed7976ae1ee51c849ecbea14e115137f488418213a45a22e93511eaa7025792203da28

So does Startech: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Thunderbolt-Adapter-DisplayPort-TBT3TBTADAP/dp/B019FPJDQ2/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3SX7UHGEX7PYM&dchild=1&keywords=startech+thunderbolt+3+to+2+adapter&qid=1603748301&sprefix=Startech+thunderbolt+3+to+%2Caps%2C183&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyVUNZRk8ySlFYTVdDJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzExODIyMkxNR0JPOUFMN0ZEViZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjc3OTMzMjg1WklVOUI5NzdVOCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

[Wow those links are long]

I use the Startech one with my HP and the Apple one with my Mac Mini. So one of those adapters *ought* to work.

I would suggest going to Lenovo’s support forums as well - occasionally folks find, for whatever reason, that it doesn’t quite work with a PC with a Thunderbolt 3 port. [Dell and Lenovo come to mind - you might find some discussions in this group about it too]. So make sure you can return the adapter.

If you look at your Thinkpad it should have a port with a little zig-zag symbol on it, like the weatherman uses to T-Storms.

Good luck!
