Font Iphone 12 pro

Hi,

I am noticing that on iphone 12 pro, even if I have set the fonts in the smallest size, compared to a basic iphone 11, in some apps, even native, I see everything very large.

How is it possible ?? there haven't been any updates yet to adapt the application to the new model ??

The apps with which I see everything very large even with small characters are for example whatsapp, facebook, instagram, reminder, calndar google, gmail ...

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

Hi Sterling R,

I’ve tried updating the setting mentioned (I’m guessing OP has too), but it was already at the smallest setting. Before I erased my iPhone XR, I took a screenshot of the difference in text sizes in a couple of apps. Same settings on both phones.

I am also seeing similar issue on iphone 12 pro when I transitioned from iphone XR. Text in every app on iphone 12 pro looks bigger in the smallest text setting as compared to XR. I am not sure what else to change in the settings to have the smaller text size similar to XR.

Is there any resolution here?

The bigger text size is probably not a bug, but an issue caused by different display resolution on iPhone 12 and 11.

iPhone XR and 11 have physical resolution 828 by 1792 pixels which translate to logical resolution 414 by 896 points with fixed 2x scaling;

iPhone 12 has physical resolution 1170 by 2532 pixels which translate to logical resolution 390 by 844 points with fixed 3x scaling.

Provide that iPhone 11 and 12 have same display size but the 12's logical resolution is less than 11, the 12 display less content (390/414 = 6% less) on one screen, which results bigger text size.

Hello LinkCore,

It sounds like you are seeing larger than expected text on your iPhone 12 Pro. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.

Take a look at this resource, which may help with what you are seeing: Use display and text size preferences on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

We hope this helps.

Take care.
