Water Streaks on MacBook after cleaning?!

Hey all.

recently bought the MacBook Pro a few days ago, and within hours fingerprints on the screen became massively visible. Therefor I had to clean the screen, I used a microfibre cloth and water to begin with however when drying it, it left water streaks as the image shows - these are only visible however with a flash light. I then used a product called “whoosh” which is suggested by many apple employee’s, worked much better but still have this issue?

is this somewhat normal? Will it ‘dry away’ over time? Or should I use a different brand cloth - as I’m guessing it’s probably my microfibre cloth’s line patten that leaves this??

Hey Antonio, thanks for your input. However after reading an article, I realised I used a small amount of tap water the other day, which is what is typically known to leave that streaky residue. The article quoted: “to avoid minerals and other elements that tap water can potentially leave behind, use whoosh or distilled water”

therefor I purchased a much better microfibre cloth today and re-cleaned with the whoosh solution. Although it isn’t fully clear, there is definitely a massive improvement; therefor doubt its something to worry about and will fade over time.

have a great day
