GGD studio cabs: zilla plugin
I recently purchased Getgood Drums' Studio Cabs: Zilla cab-modeling plugin, and I've gotten it to work without any issues (other than a lot of CPU load and a significantly larger buffer than I've otherwise needed). But I did discover this really weird anomaly in using the plugin: whenever I switch presets for the plugin, whether via Logic's presets or the presets saved within the plugin itself, I get this enormous transient, loud enough to trip the breakers on my headphone amp. The only workaround is to mute the channel strip the plugin is on (and actually I'm pretty sure it's safer to turn input monitoring off on that channel strip, because I think once even having the channel strip muted did not keep the transient from going through to the stereo output). This particular transient, which only occurs when switching presets and at no other time, seems to bypass all the level controls in Logic. I.e., even having the channel strip fader down to like -42 dB, or the stereo out down -36 dB or something, doesn't prevent the transient from coming through at full volume and, again, tripping the breakers on my headphone amp.
This does not happen when using Studio Cabs in standalone mode; it only happens using the AU plugin within Logic. It's baffling as to what could cause this, especially since the only way to avoid it is to stop output from that channel strip entirely. None of the faders, either on the channel strip or the main output fader, seems to have any effect on it.
Any ideas?
