Can I delete ~/Library/Containers folder?

I have a MacBook Air with a 128GB SSD. The containers folder is taking up 18GB and I was wondering if I can save some space by deleting it.

However, on going inside the Containers folder and sorting all sub-folders by size, I noticed that a docker folder was taking up 17GB and the remaining ~100 folders were only taking up 1GB. Since, I was no longer using Docker and had it uninstalled sometime back, I saw no need for this folder to be there and hence I deleted it.

So, to anyone reading this, you can delete and save disk space as long as you understand what application was using it and if you are still using that application.
