Recently my iPhone displays the 20% battery warning multiple times - sometimes 4 times in 5 minutes. Earlier, I got one warning at 20% and another one at 10%. Does anyone know why this happens? My iPhone X runs on iOS 14.1

Sounds like you need a new battery. Use the Apple Support app (available in the App Store if you don’t have it) or use Contact Support at the top of this page to discuss repair options.
Because you are not charging the phone when it reaches 20%. It is bad for the battery to be run down routinely. It should never be allowed to go to zero, and if it does accidentally if you don’t charge it within a few hours it will permanently damage the battery.
Are you charging it and un-plugging it?
