"HPDM.framework" will damage your computer.

I downloaded the software update to fix the PDEplugin" issue. Now I get this message:

"'HPDM.framework' will damage your computer." Is there a solution?

Thanks

MacBook

Deleting the framework file did not work for me. Spoke to Apple, they sent me HP link that solved the problem. Seems like the drivers were just old. They needed to be erased properly by HP Uninstaller Program that is part of this link. Then install new drivers. Then add your printer after you do these previous steps. Back in action!

Here is the fix. Got it from the HP forums and fixed my issue today for good. Everything is back working as it should without errors.

So I have a LaserJet M277c multi-function unit and I was unable to scan and got the same error message. I tried removing the HPDM.framework directory. I was then able to print without the error, but still couldn't scan. I found a post with a possible fix on hp.com

What I did was download this file from the hp.com ftp server:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essentials-S-5_14_8_4.pkg

You can see the original post here:

Now I didn't uninstall my HP Easy Scan. I just installed hp-printer-essentials-S-5_14_8_4.pkg. Boom .. fixed.

Tried different advice from various forums to no avail. Printer would just about work but still kept getting HPDM Framework error when trying to scan.

In the end -

1. Deleted Frameworks Folder in printer library

2. Dowloaded this:

HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X

Then:

3. Uninstall/Re Install drivers

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06960563

After that, everything worked with no error messages

Hope this helps someone too!

After updating to Big Sur I started getting these messages too. I fixed this by:

1) Trashing the folder 'hp' in /Library/Printers/ then emptying Trash - if you don't have Time Machine, I think you could just move it to your desktop before (2)

2) restarting computer

3) restoring the `hp` folder with Time Machine (i.e., putting it back into /Library/Printers/)

After that, everything worked great.

Work Around for Scanning: Some HP All in One's have a touchscreen whereby you can "Scan to Email". I had to use the touchscreen to download the scan to email App but once I did that I opened the App and entered my email address and the Scanner sent the scan to my email. Problem solved for scanning for now... hopefully HP gets us a software update soon to fix it properly, but for now we can Scan again.
