Using multiple headphones on Apple TV 4K

Hi all, we bought a new Apple TV 4K last week as we saw on the Apple website that you could use multiple sets of Apple Airpods by bluetooth to keep the noise to yourself. Awesome! But upon hooking it up and trying to connect our bluetooth headphones, we could only connect one at a time. I’ve had a look through various forums but there’s so much conflicting information and of course not all of it is current... So, in a nutshell, as of now, how do we go about hooking up our two sets up headphones? Do we have to buy a dual bluetooth adaptor, is a new OS update coming that will fix the problem? We don’t have AirPods as we prefer headphones, the advertising on the Apple website tripped us up a little as we figured if you could have multiple sets of AirPods then you’d be able to do that with headphones too...
