Apple Watch Pairing

When I pair my watch to my new phone it says I need an update. Once my phone looks for an update it says both the phone and watch are fully updated but doesn’t give me a next step and doesn’t connect to the watch. On the watch is just a yellow spiral sorta screen and every time I click it, the screen says “please continue setup on iPhone”

Hi A1danf,

Thanks for your post. If you've struggled to stop this message about updating your Apple Watch, we've got your back.

For this issue, check and test on the following:

  1. Have you tried to restart both devices? If not, we'd recommend to restart your paired iPhone: Restart your iPhone and then your Apple Watch: How to restart your Apple Watch
  2. Does the Apple Watch need to be charged? Make sure it's connected to the charger or charged to 100%.
  3. Is the Apple Watch connected to Wi-Fi? Check in Control Center, by swiping up from the bottom of your screen. Then check under Wi-Fi. If so, try to forget the network on your paired iPhone. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > select the 'i' next to your network > Forget Network. Then join it again and restart both devices once more to test it out.

If it persists, after these steps, we'd recommend to Contact Apple Support

Have a great day.
