Create a 2.4G wireless network for Airport Extreme

I need to create a 2.4G network for a security camera. How do I create that as a Guest Network on Airport Extreme? I know that both 5G and 2.4G are broadcast on the router but how can I designate one as just 2.4G?

Let's not confuse terminology. The Airport Extreme Base Station supports 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz wireless LAN frequencies. There is no "G" suffix in those conversations.

You will find the Apple setup manuals for the AirPort Extreme Base Stations 4th, 5th, and 802.11ac (last) generations — here. You should be able to find out how to create a reserved, static DHCP IP address outside the range of your normal DHCP address range. I use that technique for static network devices like my DiskStation, Printer, and the occasional camera. Really no need to create a guest account for this, if you are configured to autosense 2.4 and 5Ghz bands.

Thanks, but the manual doesn't address the issue. I can see how to create a Guest Network but the only options I see are for either a dual "WPA2/WPA Personal" or "WPA2 Personal." I assume the first is the dual 5Ghz/2.4Ghz and the second a 2.4Ghz but nowhere do I see that stated. I just need a separate 2.4Ghz network to run a security camera.

I have a 4th Gen AEBS. I have a default 2.4 Ghz SSID which is set up in the Wireless tab as WPA2 Personal. I have a second 5Ghz SSID established via the Wireless Options… panel with a radio mode of 802.11a/n - 802.11b/g/n (Automatic). The 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels are set to Automatic with WPA2 Personal. These share the same subnet and DHCP range.

In addition to these two SSID, I have enabled a guest network with WPA2 Personal and it is on a separate subnet from the first paragraph.

From the Network tab's Network Option… panel, I have set up exclusive DHCP ranges for each subnet.

Using the Network tab's DHCP reservations, I added static devices on the first subnet with IP addresses below the starting DHCP range. This is where I thought you might want to add your security camera, but you may still want it on its own subnet which you could also add to the (static) reservations list in this section.
