Just got the iphone 12 and i have a group of 8 ppl in a message. I realized that some messages are not showing up in the chat. I only know this because some are emphazing or laughing at a message that i dont even see??? It might be a non iphone use but im not sure. I have all the mms n sms on. I looked farther up the group chat to look for the messages being emphazied but cant find them?

FIXED!!!! So Apple went thru the Logs that I uploaded last week and a Senior Tech last night went thru them and found a T-Mobile-specific fix: TURN OFF WIFI CALLING. They shouldn’t affect each other but they do and the temporary work-around is to switch off WiFi Calling and I am now getting all my Group Messages. Apple will issue a patch in a future iOS release. So here’s hoping it works for you!!

What, exactly was done to solve the problem? Tech Coach seems to be a separate company that is not associated with Verizon. This post might be scam or pfishing by Tech Coach.
Please see my notes above. Tech coach is an app. It is not a scam. It may be only for Verizon customers but I used them, it cost nothing and they resolved the issue
Yes, that’s lucky that you’re on Verizon. That’s Apple’s workaround for Verizon customers for now they said. You might get double messages for some, but at least you’ll see what you missed. I did it all: replaced the phone at an Apple Store, new SIM card, reset everything, all MMS and Group Text settings correct, and reprovisioned multiple times with T-Mobile. With the Apple Specialist saying it will be addressed in a “patch”, that kinda tells me they know it’s an Apple issue not the carriers.
Well I WAS fixed as I said above. But it got worse the first day after the workaround for T-Mobile users of turning off WiFi Calling , then impossible again like it was before, after the second day. The Apple Senior Advisor said their engineers are aware of the problem and it won’t be fixed until they issue an iOS update. I will not wait that long, missing 80% of my Group Texts and I will be sending back the 12 Pro. I was trying every fix possible for the last 19 days and I’m done.
This is seriously getting ridiculous. Why is this STILL not fixed? Same as everyone else, have tried everything, have Verizon and an iPhone 12 Pro. Following thread hoping another user might come across a solution. Thanks!
Talked to Apple Suport via Business chat tonight. This solution worked for me on a iPhone 12 Pro Max. Go to settings, messages, and toggle iMessages off then back on. Then restart phone.
Sounded too easy, but I have been receiving group messages since the restart.
I have an iPhone 5SE. Yesterday I suddenly stopped receiving group messages that included android phones. If the group has only iPhone users, i received the texts. My carrier is Ting Sprint.
I had not updated anything at the time of failure, so I suspect it is a carrier problem. Since having the problem, I have updated and I am still experiencing the issue.
I am now running the Beta of iOS 14.3.2 and the issue is gone. So when they release the official 14.3 it should fix the issue. Definitely a software issue. Apple finally admitted as much after my 18 straight days of troubleshooting, saying they would address it “with a patch”.
It’s some kind of carrier thing. At least with ATT the provision reset fixed it. Once they did that we a flood of missed messages. Was crazy.
Glad that worked for you! But let’s say it’s not completely a carrier thing. With that Apple Supervisor/Specialist saying Apple would issue a patch, that is ownership
of the problem.
Try turning off WiFi Calling. That’s what Apple suggested for me and it worked.
on Verizon, you can download Messages+, which then receives all messages. You might get double messages a lot but at least you’ll see the ones that regular texting misses.
