Depending on the part required, it may not all need replacement.

On the other hand, if the Mac portable is of a certain vintage you

may have harder time getting new replacement from Apple store.

To help in replacement, be familiar with the charger and also Mac.

This article shows & covers most/all portable Mac power adapters.

• Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook - Apple Support

Older macbook chargers used two versions MagSafe, 1 and 2. Later

these have USB-C output, not magsafe; 2015+ for 12-inch MacBook.

Newer power adapter & accessories are like these, with USB-C output:

• Using Apple power adapters, cables, and duckheads with Apple products - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204178

You could locate appropriate and correct Apple power adapters for

MacBook build model versions, online; to compare specs & prices.

Examples from reputable resellers may be less than Apple retail tag.

There also may be slight differences in those part numbers across

their series and introductory vintage. (official replacement may differ)

• Adapters - Power & Cables - Mac Accessories - Apple

• Power Adapters, Notebook & Laptop Power from MacSales.com

https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/accessories/power-adapters

Examples of Apple supplied power adapters with specs, are available

from reputable resellers; or look at Apple store online, for their stock.

Replacement parts specification depends on correct identity to match.

• Apple Genuine 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter for MacBook Pro with Retina Display (2012-2015)

• Apple Genuine 85W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Pro (2006-2012)

These seem identical, except the magsafe magnetic output was improved in later years.

Keep in mind older 'Early 2006-2010 MacBook 13-inch' ~ differ from later MB /Pro + /Air

Power adapters evolved and went to USB-C in about 2018. To further complicate matters.

Later parts aren't directly backward compatible. An apple store could find matching

parts for your Mac portable, by sales order number, or maybe build year; or model #.

Good luck & happy computing!🌞🌜
