Dictating numbers issue in note pad

When I dictate numbers, for example costs ($5,000) it sometimes changes it to full words (ex: Five thousand dollars). Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Calculator automatically clear every time I type a number on my numeric pad I`m using external non-apple keyboard.
