Watch Series 3 accuracy issues

My wife is continually complaining of accuracy issues. Sometimes she walks with my son who has a Watch SE and his behaves correctly while hers registers too low.

Some examples:

  1. Indoor walking on treadmill. Fast walking. Watch never recognized that a workout was happening, or at least no notification popped up. Afterwards it gave her credit for 19 minutes of the 50 minutes she was walking.
  2. Outdoor brisk walk. My sons watch will hit 1.0 mile while my wife’s shows 0.7 miles. Both of them had their phones on them. Based on Google Maps the 1.0 mile reading is correct.

My wife says she sweats under the watch. I could understand that affecting the heart rate but distance measurements?
