My email to a list bounces because I’m not subscribed on an @iCloud.com acct. Problem is, I’m not SENDING from one. Even though I specifically check to be sure it’s “From:” my @mac.com acct, it goes out from @icloud.com. This is making me nuts. Please help me fix this! whowland1@mac.com (really)

For a number of years, mac.com has been an "alias" for iCloud.com. Check here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201771
I know, but this is a brand new occurrence with a list I’ve been on forever. My prefs show outgoing as @Mac.com.
If you haven't changed any of your own settings, it may be that Apple has changed something on their servers.
I understand that, but it’s not helpful when suddenly all my outgoing @mac.com email shows as being send by @icloud.com. Can I stop that?
It appears to happen ONLY on my iPad. Emails sent from my iPhone or desktop are received as being from @mac.com. Maybe this is an artifact of the latest iPad update. Still annoying, though.
