Would a MacBook Pro 2018 ‘fast charge’ the iPhone 12 if I use the cable which comes along with the iPhone 12 to charge it via the MacBook ?
How many watts are these thunderbolt 3 ports capable of in terms of output needed to fast charge a phone ?
While the USB-C ports on the MacBook Pro can be used to charge the iPhone, it won't be fast charged.
The USB-C ports deliver around 10watts. Fast charging requires 18 or more.
You can however use the MacBook Pro's own USB-C charger to Fast charge the iPhone.
