I am using the iPhone Email app. It doesn't show me new email unless I open the app. Settings only allows Fetch or Manual.
Is it possible to get the mail as soon as it arrives? I will open the app and suddenly have a handful of new emails.

Only select mail accounts will support Push, which is what you are asking about. Those are generally Exchange mail accounts provided by work. You can set your email Fetch to 15 minutes, which is the soonest you can get.

I know what you are saying. But I don't get any new mail, doesn't matter how long it's been, unless i physically open the app. And I know emails have been sent to me.
Why not Automatic? Doesn't that mean Mail is checked whenever your phone is on?
Also, what services use Push? Outlook?
And it looks like icloud allows push(?)
Because that is not how Automatic works. I'm just giving you information from what I've learned over the years. Regular Outlook does not use Push, and yes, iCloud does use Push.

That is up to you. You can use which ever account you wish. My responses were about how things work, not what account to use.
You need to set your account to Fetch, and set your Fetch settings to one of the time limits. Do not use Push, and do not set to Automatic. As I said earlier, the soonest you can check is every 15 minutes.
