So I’ve been having the same problem. I deleted my beta profile and reinstalled it and it seems to have stopped showing the update alert. 🙏🏼
If you have deleted the beta profile you have essentially quit the beta program, but you still have a beta version on your phone. You have 2 ways of dealing with it:
If you use the 2nd solution you will be able to sync any data that is already synced to iCloud, but you will not be able to restore a backup made with the beta version that you have been using, and you will have to reinstall all of your apps.
You have to re-enroll in the Public Beta.
report the issue using the feedback app
This is what happens when you beta test software, bugs appear, you use your feedback tool to report them, they are fixed in a new build. It is why you are testing it. If this makes you mad in the future skip the beta testing.
Put your profile back on and update to build 18B91
There is a new beta version out this afternoon, install it.
All of the betas have been 14.2 Do you have build 18B91?
I am having the same problem.
My version shows, 14.2 (18B5083a)
not sure if this is the latest, but it shows that there are no updates available.
iOS 14.2 is up to date.
I already removed the beta profile.
Having the same problem over and over again. 14.2 beta tester. Both my iPad and iPhone are in the program, and both of them continuously receive a new beta update available message but no beta update available.
just to be clear, I’ve been a beta tester for quite a while, and I know how to update to the latest betas on my phone.
glad it's fixed for ya.
my 2 cents.. You should probably re-consider doing beta testing in the future if issues are making you mad. Beta software will always have bugs of some sort and that's what you signed up for. Apple even recommends that you do not install this on your primary device.
Now that you are no longer getting the pop up, you may want to consider deleting the beta profile and updating to the 14.2 public release when it comes out.
My mistake using the word “mad” I’ve beta tested on many of my Apple devices but never ran into a problem like this before. It was more so a “how can i fix this issue” not a “omg this phone sucks it keeps popping up”. Had it like that for a week and it never bothered me much but thank you for the input overall.
no problem, glad you have it worked out. The reason I made that comment is because we saw dozens upon dozens of people recently with the same issue you had. Prior to the recent beta update though, so they couldn't just update and fix the issue. Many were up in arms about the issue, most did not understand the beta profile vs the beta software, most did not follow the 1st step of enrollment where you archive a backup so they could get out of it without losing everything. So it's been fun lately with this issue and I may have made an assumption 😁
My phone is going the exact same thing! I wish I could make it stop!
My phone is doing the exact same thing! Just started randomly I’m on the highest beta and have been for at least a week. But the error has just start since this morning !
