iPhone 12 Box Opened/Damaged During Shipping
Hey guys -- I received an iPhone 12 Pro yesterday that I pre-ordered a couple of weeks back. The cardboard shipping box was ripped open, but with the iPhone box still inside. There was no shrink wrap around the iPhone box. I could open it and access the phone without needing to unwrap anything. The protective film was still on and the phone looks fine, powers on, etc.
I've initiated a claim with Apple, but, obviously, I want to start using the phone. Assuming the unit is undamaged, is it possible that it was hacked somehow so that when the user activates, copies over personal information, etc. that they could be exposed? Seems unlikely since the phone arrived a day early. How would someone have enough time to intercept the package, hack the phone and have to continue to me on time?
The one thing that doesn't make sense is the lack of shrink wrap around the iPhone box. If the box was just damaged through the normal course of shipping why was the shrink wrap missing? If someone intentionally messed with the package why didn't they just steal the phone.
Any recommendations?
